Quiet restructuring or just efficiency drives?

I've been hearing a lot of talk lately about 'efficiency' and 'streamlining operations.' On the surface, it sounds like standard corporate speak, but combined with the hiring freeze and the way projects are being re-evaluated, it's starting to feel like more than just buzzwords. Some teams seem to be getting leaner, with existing members absorbing more work. Are these just normal operational adjustments, or is anyone else picking up on signals that might indicate a more significant internal shift? It's hard to get a clear picture, and the lack of direct communication is only fueling the speculation. Just trying to gauge if this is a company-wide trend or if I'm perhaps overthinking things based on my team's specific situation. Any insights from other parts of Merck would be helpful.
