The silence on headcount is deafening

The 'efficiency drives' and 'strategic realignments' are getting old. What's really concerning is the complete lack of transparency around hiring. It's not just that it's slow; it feels like it's completely frozen. We had roles open for months that are now just... gone. Not posted, not filled, just disappeared from the internal site. Managers are super cagey when you ask about new hires or backfills. It used to be you'd hear *something* through the grapevine, even rumors. Now, it's just crickets. This feels different than past cycles. It’s not just a seasonal lull; it’s a strategic pause, but one they’re not communicating. Makes you wonder what the long-term plan is and if our departments are even part of it.

Completely agree. The 'streamlining' talk has been constant, but the lack of open communication about staffing is unsettling. It's hard to plan or feel secure when roles just vanish without explanation. This level of opacity makes it difficult for teams to operate effectively and for individuals to understand their future within the company. Hopefully, leadership addresses this soon.

Yeah, the silence is pretty loud. It feels like there's a disconnect between the stated goals and the reality on the ground. When you see open positions just evaporate, it's natural to wonder what the underlying strategy is. It breeds uncertainty, and frankly, it makes it harder to attract and retain talent when people can't get straight answers about growth opportunities.
