8k cuts and the AI lawsuits... what's the real story?

So, 8,000 people are out, and I'm seeing a ton of chatter about lawsuits claiming that the company used some kind of automated system to make layoff decisions, potentially targeting people who took medical leave or parental leave. Has anyone here heard anything concrete about this internally? Or is this just noise from the outside? It's hard to know what to believe, but the accusations are pretty serious. If it's true, it's a whole new level of messed up. Makes you wonder about how many decisions are really being made by algorithms these days and if we even know the criteria. Anyone have insights or personal experiences that shed light on this?
