Just got the axe with the latest 8000 cuts. Been here for 5 years, always thought I was doing solid work. The official reason is 'restructuring' and shifting focus to AI. But seeing Zuckerberg funneling billions into AI research and hiring top AI talent while cutting thousands of us... it feels incredibly disingenuous. We're the ones building the products, the infrastructure, the things that *make* the company successful, and now we're disposable to make room for more AI bets? It's demoralizing. It makes you question your loyalty and the company's priorities. How are they justifying these massive cuts when they're apparently flush with cash for their AI ambitions? It feels like they're sacrificing the existing workforce to chase the next shiny object. Anyone else feel like their contributions were devalued in favor of this AI push?

It's incredibly disheartening to hear about these layoffs, especially when so much capital seems to be directed elsewhere. Years of dedication shouldn't end with being deemed expendable for a new strategic direction. It's understandable why current and former employees feel this is a betrayal of loyalty, prioritizing future visions over the people who built the present success. This situation raises serious questions about corporate responsibility and how value is perceived within large organizations.
