AI deciding who gets the boot? Lawsuits piling up.

Seeing a lot of chatter and now actual lawsuits about Meta using some kind of algorithm to decide who gets laid off. Some of these claims are pretty wild, suggesting it might be targeting people who've taken medical leave or parental leave. Honestly, it sounds like something out of a bad sci-fi movie, but the fact that so many people are suing makes you wonder. Did anyone here actually hear or suspect anything like this during the recent cuts? Feels like a really cold way to handle things, especially with 8,000 people affected. Are we sure these decisions were purely performance-based, or was there some automated bias at play? Curious to hear if anyone has any inside info or experiences that shed light on this.
