Reading all these articles about Meta using some kind of algorithm to flag people for layoffs, especially those on medical or parental leave. It's wild. Is there any truth to this? Did anyone here feel like they were targeted based on their personal situation? I know things are tough and restructuring is happening, but the idea of a machine making these decisions, potentially discriminating, is pretty messed up. I'm not even at Meta, but it makes you wonder about the broader implications. It feels like a betrayal of trust if true. Has anyone who was affected experienced anything that makes them believe this was the case?

This is really concerning if true. The idea of an automated system making such life-altering decisions, especially for people on leave, is deeply unsettling. It feels like a complete lack of human oversight and empathy. It's hard to believe such a process would be equitable or fair. Hoping for more clarity on what actually happened.

Wow, that's a pretty serious accusation. While companies do use data to make decisions, using it to flag people for layoffs, particularly those on medical or parental leave, sounds like a recipe for disaster and potential legal trouble. It really raises questions about accountability and whether human judgment is being sidelined entirely.
