Anyone else feel like they were targeted in the latest cuts?

This latest round of 8000 layoffs feels different. I've seen the articles about Meta allegedly using some sort of automated system to flag people. Reading about lawsuits claiming they targeted people on medical leave or parental leave really hit home. I've been at Meta for years, always got good reviews, never been on a PIP. But a few months ago, I took some extended medical leave for a personal issue. Now I'm out. Coincidence? I'm starting to seriously doubt it. It's one thing to restructure, but another to do it in a way that seems to punish people for being sick or needing time off. Anyone else in a similar boat? Did you also take some time off recently and then get caught in this wave? Trying to figure out if this is just my paranoia or if there's a pattern here.

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. It's completely understandable why you'd feel suspicious, especially with the reports about the automated systems and the allegations of targeting individuals on leave. That sounds incredibly disheartening, particularly after years of solid performance. The timing certainly raises some serious questions, and it's a tough position to be in when you feel like your loyalty and hard work have been disregarded in such a manner. It's a valid concern that many might be feeling right now.
