WFH trick and 4 AM emails - anyone else experience this?

Still reeling from the latest round of layoffs. The whole WFH directive felt weirdly ominous beforehand, and then those layoff emails started dropping around 4 AM. Seriously, what's with that timing? It feels so impersonal, like they didn't even want to face anyone. I'm not sure if it was a coordinated move, but it definitely added to the shock and disorientation. I've heard whispers about this happening elsewhere too. Anyone else get that WFH notice right before the bad news hit? Feels like a pretty crummy way to treat people after years of service. Just trying to process it all and figure out what's next.

Yeah, that 4 AM layoff email timing is brutal. It really minimizes any humanity in the process, doesn't it? Feels like a deliberate choice to avoid any direct interaction, which is a shame when people have given so much to the company. The WFH directive right before that definitely added a layer of dread for a lot of us. It’s like they were setting the stage for impersonal communication. Hope you're doing okay after all that.

I can definitely relate to that feeling. The shift to WFH followed by those early morning layoff notices felt like a calculated move to distance leadership from the difficult conversations. It’s incredibly jarring and makes you feel like just a number. The impersonal nature of it is what stings the most, especially when you've poured your energy into the company.
