MetLife - Considering external opportunities, what's the market like?

So, given the current climate and the general uncertainty (even without concrete layoff news), I've been cautiously updating my resume and browsing external job boards. MetLife has been my home for a while, but I'm starting to feel the pull to explore what else is out there. Has anyone made a move recently from MetLife, or is actively looking? What industries or companies are hiring, and what's the compensation looking like outside the company? Just trying to get a lay of the land and gauge my market value. Any advice on where to focus the search or what skills are in demand would be super helpful. Trying to be proactive rather than reactive, you know?

Hey there! It's definitely a smart move to stay aware of the market, even when things feel stable. From what I've seen, tech and consulting firms seem to be actively recruiting, especially for roles in data analytics and cloud infrastructure. Compensation can vary wildly, but I've heard of some strong offers in those sectors. Networking is key right now to uncover those hidden opportunities. Good luck with your search!

I hear you. Exploring options is always a good practice, regardless of company news. The financial services sector itself is quite dynamic, so looking at fintech startups or even more specialized insurance roles outside of a large corporation might be worth considering. Compensation outside can be competitive, but also depends heavily on the specific role and your experience level. Don't underestimate the value of your MetLife experience on your resume.
