Hey everyone, posting anonymously here. Been at MetLife for a few years now and lately, there's been a definite shift in the air. My team's been hearing about significant budget freezes across several departments, and it feels like hiring has pretty much ground to a halt. Managers are being super cagey when asked about it. I haven't seen any official announcements, and my direct manager is giving me the usual 'business as usual' spiel, but the silence and the subtle changes in project prioritization are hard to ignore. Anyone else in other divisions noticing this? Are you seeing fewer new roles posted internally or externally? Any insights on what might be driving this? Just trying to get a sense of the broader picture before things potentially get dicey.

Interesting to hear this. I'm in a different division but have also noticed things feeling a bit tighter lately. Projects that seemed like sure things are now facing extra layers of approval, and the general vibe is more cautious than it was even six months ago. Definitely not 'business as usual' if you ask me.

That's concerning. I haven't personally felt the hiring freeze directly, but the whispers about budget constraints are definitely circulating in my area too. It makes you wonder what the long-term implications are for staffing and growth if this continues. Hope there's some clarity soon.
