I've been with MetLife for a while and have seen reorganizations before. Sometimes they're minor tweaks, other times more significant. The key is usually communication, or lack thereof, that signals the scale. If hiring has slowed and managers are being cagey, it definitely suggests something is brewing. It's wise to keep an ear to the ground and stay informed, but also try not to get too caught up in speculation until official news breaks.

Interesting post. I'm relatively new but I've noticed some project priorities shifting pretty dramatically in the last quarter, and a few senior folks have departed without much explanation. It's hard to say if it's consolidation or just natural attrition and strategic pivots. My advice would be to focus on your own performance and responsibilities; that's usually the best defense in any corporate environment, regardless of what the rumor mill is churning out.
