MetLife - Performance review season looming, anyone else feeling the heat?

With performance review season right around the corner, I'm feeling a distinct shift in the atmosphere at MetLife. Conversations seem more focused on efficiency and output, and there's a lot of emphasis on hitting those year-end targets. Wondering if this is just standard end-of-year crunch time, or if there's an underlying current of trying to justify headcount or identify underperformers? My manager's been a bit more direct about metrics lately, which isn't unusual, but the tone feels different. Has anyone else picked up on this? Any strategies for navigating this period, especially if you're concerned about your standing?

Yeah, I'm feeling it too. It's definitely more intense than usual. Seems like everyone's hyper-aware of their numbers and how they stack up. I've heard a few hushed conversations about 'optimization' and 'resource allocation,' which always makes me a little nervous, to be honest. Hoping it's just the usual year-end push, but it does feel like there's a bit more scrutiny this time around.

Totally. My inbox has been flooded with performance dashboards and 'goal alignment' emails. It's making me double-check all my projects and deliverables. My boss is asking for more frequent updates on progress, which is fine, but the overall vibe is definitely more pressure-cooker than usual. Just trying to stay focused and do good work, but the underlying anxiety is hard to ignore.
