MGM Resorts - Another round of cuts in Santa Ana?

Just saw the latest WARN notice hit for Santa Ana. Looks like another 34 people were shown the door as of May 21st. Anyone in the corporate offices over there have any insight into what departments were hit? It feels like the ‘streamlining’ is just a permanent state of being now rather than a one-time thing. The transparency from leadership is non-existent as usual. I’m tired of waiting for the other shoe to drop every time I see an unscheduled calendar invite from HR. If you were part of this latest group, I hope you’re landing on your feet quickly.

It is honestly exhausting working here right now. Every time a calendar invite pops up from HR, my heart sinks. We are all just waiting for the next round of cuts, and the complete lack of communication from leadership makes it so much worse. It feels like they are just trimming headcount to prop up margins without any regard for the people actually doing the work. I am sorry to hear about those thirty-four folks; it really highlights how unstable things have become across the board.

I have been tracking these notices for a while, and it is pretty clear that 'streamlining' is just code for continuous downsizing at this point. The corporate strategy seems to be doing more with less until everything eventually breaks. If you are still there, keep your resume updated and stay alert. The culture has shifted so much lately that nobody feels safe, regardless of their department or performance. Just look out for yourself, because the company certainly isn't looking out for us.
