Auto Demand vs. MCHP - Beyond the headlines?

So, the news about Microchip and the automotive sector is out there. It makes sense on paper - cars are a big chunk of their business, and that market has definitely seen some turbulence. But I'm wondering if the impact is more nuanced than just 'auto demand wilts = layoffs'. Are there specific product lines or divisions within MCHP that are disproportionately affected? Is it more about inventory build-up, or is it a true demand collapse? From my perspective, it's hard to get a clear picture from the outside. I haven't seen any official announcements from the company itself, just these third-party reports. If anyone has visibility into specific areas of the business that are really feeling the pain, or conversely, areas that are still strong, I'd be interested to hear about it. Trying to understand the internal MCHP reality.

Interesting points. It's easy to jump to conclusions with broad market trends. I suspect the impact isn't uniform across MCHP's portfolio. Automotive is complex, with different tiers of components and varying lead times. Perhaps some of their more specialized microcontroller families for infotainment or ADAS are more resilient than, say, basic power management ICs used in high-volume, lower-margin applications. The inventory angle is also crucial; a temporary overstock could mask underlying demand shifts. Curious to see if any specific segments rebound faster than others.
