Anyone else feeling uneasy lately?

I've been at Microsoft for almost 8 years, and I can't shake this feeling that something big is about to happen. I'm a PM in the Azure org, and things have been…quiet. Too quiet. My manager keeps saying everything's fine, but I've seen this movie before. Remember 2017? It was all smiles and team-building exercises right before the hammer dropped. I'm not saying layoffs are definitely coming, but I'm definitely updating my resume and reaching out to my network. Anyone else feeling the same way? Maybe it's just paranoia, but I'd rather be prepared.

I've been feeling it too. Not in Azure, but over in the Windows side. A weird pressure to 'innovate' with zero actual guidance. I swear they're setting us up to fail so they can justify a reorg. Smart move on your part updating the resume. It's always better to be prepared than caught off guard. Good luck!

Honestly, this sounds like typical big-company paranoia. Eight years is a long time to be anywhere; maybe you're just bored? 'Quiet' could just mean they're actually executing a strategy for once instead of constant fire drills. I'd hold off on the panic button until you see something concrete.
