Yeah, definitely seeing similar vibes in my org. The 'focus on current priorities' line is getting old, isn't it? It feels like a way to avoid tough conversations about what's actually going to get done. I suspect there are a lot of re-evaluations happening, and they're not ready to broadcast the outcomes. Best advice I can give is keep doing excellent work on what you *can* control. Document everything. If things shift, you'll be in a better position. Don't let the uncertainty paralyze you.
Honestly, it's probably not as dramatic as you think. Management often gets new directives or information that they can't share until it's finalized. Think about the constant changes in the market and how that forces pivots. Your manager might just be trying to shield you from information that could change by next week. Focus on delivering value in your current role. When they're ready to share, they will. Stressing about it won't change the roadmap.
