The 'optimizing talent architecture' jargon is the absolute worst part. It’s corporate speak for gutting the people who built the products while the executives pat themselves on the back for another successful quarter. If you’re still there, keep your head down and your LinkedIn status updated, because nobody is safe regardless of performance. The culture has shifted from innovation to constant survival mode, and it's exhausting to watch from the outside. Don't let them convince you this is just 'business as usual'—it’s a direct reflection of how they view their workforce.
I was part of a similar round a few months ago, and honestly, the relief of finally being out was almost immediate. It’s hard to see it when you're in the trenches, but the constant anxiety is not normal and definitely not worth the paycheck. Start networking now while you still have access to the internal directory. Treat the job like a temporary gig because that is exactly how they treat you. Once the trust is gone and the layoffs become a monthly ritual, it’s time to find a place that actually values its employees.
