The transition support is nonexistent. They handed me a generic packet with links to job boards and told me to clear out my desk within the hour. It is cold, corporate, and incredibly demoralizing to watch people who poured years into these projects get treated like line items on a budget sheet. At this point, I am just waiting for my own number to be called so I can finally walk away from this burning building for good.
Honestly, keep your expectations at zero. The severance is standard, but don't count on anyone actually looking out for your career development on the way out. Management is in full survival mode, and they’ve stopped pretending that employees are anything more than overhead to be trimmed. If you are still there, update your resume tonight and start networking aggressively outside the firm. The 'death by a thousand cuts' is real, and nobody is safe regardless of their past contributions.
