Anyone else seeing the writing on the wall for 2025?

So, with the latest WARN notice hitting the CA offices today, it feels like the 'streamlining' narrative is wearing pretty thin. I’ve been through a few cycles here, but this time it feels different—less about trimming fat and more about a fundamental shift away from the R&D ambition that brought many of us here in the first place. The mood in the office is absolutely cratered. Half the team is staring at their LinkedIn profiles instead of their data, and the other half is just waiting for the next calendar invite that shouldn't be there. It’s hard to stay motivated on these long-term projects when the company is clearly pivoting to survive the funding gap rather than actually innovating. If you’re in a core research role and haven't started polishing your CV yet, I’d strongly suggest you reconsider your timeline. The leadership team keeps talking about being 'lean,' but it’s starting to look like they’re just starving the pipeline to death. Does anyone know if there’s a planned Q1 update or are we just going to keep doing this death-by-a-thousand-cuts thing every few months?

The pivot toward 'efficiency' is just a polite way of saying the golden era is over. I've watched the R&D pipeline get gutted to appease shareholders who only care about short-term margins. When you stop investing in the science that made you a leader, you’re just a generic pharma company with a bloated overhead. It’s painful to watch the talent bleed out, but honestly, anyone still there without a backup plan is just waiting for the next round of cuts to hit them personally.

I remember when everyone was excited to be part of the innovation engine, but that energy vanished months ago. It’s not just the layoffs; it’s the lack of clear vision coming from the top. Every 'streamlining' announcement feels like another nail in the coffin of our original mission. If you're spending more time updating your resume than working on projects, you already know the answer. Take the hint, protect yourself, and start looking for a company that actually values its own R&D pipeline.
