Just saw the official WARN filing drop for the end of February. It’s 24 people across the LA and Glendale sites. Honestly, it feels like death by a thousand cuts at this point. I know it’s a smaller number compared to the big restructurings we saw earlier, but the morale in the office is completely shot. Everyone is just looking over their shoulders waiting to see if their department is next on the chopping block. We keep hearing about 'strategic refocusing' and 'funding shifts' from leadership, but it just sounds like corporate speak for 'we didn't hit our targets.' I’ve been here for three years and I’ve never seen the place this anxious. If you’re at the Santa Monica or Glendale hubs, make sure your resumes are polished and your networks are active. This industry is contracting hard and the vaccine portfolio shift is hitting the research side the hardest. Stay safe out there.

It is getting exhausting. Every time a new notice drops, it feels like the goalposts for our job security move again. Management loves using terms like 'strategic refocusing,' but for those of us on the ground, it just means more work with fewer resources and zero clarity on what the end game actually is. I am honestly not surprised by the news. We’ve been hearing whispers about further consolidation for months, even if the scale seems smaller this time around. When leadership stops being transparent about the long-term vision, the culture naturally starts to rot from the inside out. Everyone is rightfully nervous because the messaging never matches the reality of the daily grind. It is hard to stay motivated when the company feels like it is shrinking one layoff notice at a time.
