Is anyone else getting 're-aligned' out of a job?

I’ve been seeing so many mid-level managers getting the boot lately under the guise of 'operational efficiency' and 'departmental realignment.' It feels like leadership is just playing musical chairs with our livelihoods. It’s not just the Richmond group; it feels like every department is being gutted slowly so they don’t have to do one massive, headline-grabbing layoff all at once. My lead told me everything was stable last week, and now half my team has had their access restricted. It’s impossible to plan for the future when the strategy changes every quarter. For those of us left standing, are we just waiting for the next shoe to drop, or is there actually a plan here that doesn't involve firing 200+ people every couple of months? I'm exhausted.

This slow-motion layoff strategy is honestly more stressful than a single round of cuts. Watching desks sit empty one by one creates such a toxic environment of constant paranoia. Management loves to hide behind 'operational efficiency' buzzwords, but it’s clear they are just trimming headcount to juice the stock price for the next quarterly report. Don't believe a word your lead says; if they are already cutting access, they’ve been planning this for months behind closed doors. Keep your resume polished and start looking for an exit strategy immediately.

I went through this exact same song and dance last year. They act like these realignments are about improving workflows, but it’s just a calculated way to avoid WARN act notices and keep the rest of us compliant while they hollow out the staff. It’s incredibly demoralizing to see long-term talent pushed out by people who have never even touched a patient file. My advice is to stop putting in the extra hours; they’ve already shown how little your loyalty means to them. Take care of yourself first, because they certainly won't.
