Anyone else caught in the Milwaukee purge today?

So it finally happened. Was sitting at my desk this morning just trying to clear out some emails, and then the calendar invite for a 'brief sync' popped up. We all knew the 90-person cut was coming thanks to the WARN notice, but it doesn't make it any less surreal when you're the one actually getting locked out of the system. I’ve been with Molson Coors for a few years now, and honestly, the mood has been pretty grim for a while. The leadership keeps talking about 'streamlining' and 'future-proofing,' but it just feels like they’re gutting the teams that actually do the work to make the shareholders happy for one more quarter. The package is decent, I guess, but it’s not exactly going to make up for the stress of job hunting in this market. Anyone else get hit today? What’s the word on the severance paperwork? Thinking about taking a few weeks to just disconnect before I even think about updating my LinkedIn.

I'm sorry you're going through this. The 'streamlining' buzzwords always sound so cold when they're used to justify gutting a department. I was let go during a previous restructuring at a different firm, and the 'locked out of the system' moment is genuinely disorienting. Take a few days to breathe and step away from the professional side of things. Your value isn't tied to a corporate calendar invite, and you will find something else where you're treated with actual respect instead of just being another line item on a budget report.

Honestly, the writing has been on the wall for a while. Everyone keeps talking about corporate strategy, but it’s just another cycle of Molson Coors prioritizing shareholders over the people who actually keep the lights on in Milwaukee. It’s a bitter pill to swallow, especially when you’ve put in years of hard work only to be cut off by a vague, impersonal email. Don't waste your energy trying to make sense of their 'vision'—just focus on getting your severance and updating your resume. This company hasn't been the same place it used to be for a long time.
