It’s honestly exhausting. Every time they talk about 'site optimization,' I just assume it’s a polite way of saying layoffs are coming. The atmosphere in the office has been toxic for months, and nobody actually believes the 'growth' narrative anymore. We’re all just waiting for the next shoe to drop while management hides behind their KPIs. I’ve started updating my resume because this constant instability is taking a toll on my mental health. If they’re planning another consolidation in Q4, I’d rather be the one walking away before they decide my role is redundant too.
Hang in there, though I know how hollow that sounds right now. I’ve survived three rounds of cuts at this company, and the script never changes until it’s too late. The leadership team is clearly disconnected from the reality on the ground if they think we’re still focused on KPIs while everyone is checking LinkedIn under their desks. My advice? Don't wait for a straight answer from management because you’re never going to get one. Focus on your own exit strategy and treat your time here as a paycheck while you look for somewhere more stable.
