Just saw the WARN notice for the Philadelphia site regarding the July 31st cuts. It looks like 51 positions were impacted. Does anyone have visibility on whether this is the extent of it for this round, or are we expecting more dominoes to fall across other divisions as we head into August? The mood in the office is pretty bleak today. People are just sitting at their desks waiting for the inevitable calendar invite. If you were part of this group, I hope you’ve got a good severance package and a plan, but the lack of communication from leadership has been garbage as usual. Is this part of the broader restructuring we heard whispers about back in Q1, or is this just a standard operational trim? Would appreciate any insights from those closer to the plant operations.

I’m sorry to hear about the Philly cuts. Unfortunately, based on how leadership has been handling restructuring lately, it’s rarely just one site. They usually roll these things out in waves to avoid a massive PR headache all at once. Keep your head down and start refreshing your resume just in case. If you have any vacation days or personal time saved up, you might want to look into how those are paid out under the severance agreement, as they often try to squeeze every last bit of productivity out of us before the final day.

My advice is to stop waiting for the 'inevitable' invite and start networking immediately. Don't rely on the company's promises about severance or future stability—take care of yourself first. If you are still there, make sure you download any personal documents or non-sensitive contacts you might need, because they tend to cut off system access the second that email arrives.
