Anyone else feeling on edge lately?

I've been at MongoDB for almost 4 years, in the cloud engineering group. I can't shake this feeling that something's coming. The higher-ups have been super vague in all-hands meetings, and there's been this weird emphasis on 'efficiency' and 'resource optimization.' I know every company says that stuff, but it feels different this time. Maybe it's just me being paranoid after seeing all the tech layoffs lately. Anyone else getting similar vibes? Or am I just doomscrolling too much?

Totally get where you're coming from. Vague corporate speak is almost always a bad sign. Four years is a long time to build intuition, so trust your gut. My advice? Start quietly updating your resume and brushing up on interview skills, just in case. It's always better to be prepared than caught off guard. Even if nothing happens, you'll be in a better position regardless.

Honestly, every company goes through phases like this. 'Efficiency' is the buzzword *du jour*. Remember that time they reorganized the entire support structure and it was a huge mess for six months? Probably just another one of those. I wouldn't panic yet. Maybe take a vacation and disconnect for a week. Doomscrolling definitely amplifies anxiety.
