Heard rumors about restructuring - what's the usual severance?

Okay, so I'm not trying to start anything, but a friend in sales told me they're hearing whispers about a potential restructuring happening in the next quarter. No specifics on who or what teams will be affected, but the word 'redundancy' was thrown around. I've been through this before at a previous company, and the severance package can make or break the landing. Anyone have experience with MongoDB's severance packages in the past? What was the formula? How long did benefits last? Just trying to get a sense of what to expect if the worst happens. Trying to plan ahead.

I've heard similar rumblings lately. While I haven't personally been through a layoff at MongoDB, I've seen enough come and go to know the general vibe. From what I gather, they typically offer something in line with industry standards – think a few weeks of base pay per year of service, plus some extended benefits coverage. Don't expect a goldmine, but it's usually a decent parachute. Start documenting your achievements *now*. It'll help you update your resume and provide ammunition for your next job search, regardless of what happens.

Take these rumors with a huge grain of salt. 'Restructuring' is a buzzword that gets thrown around constantly, especially around quarter ends. Sales always hears things first, and they're often the least accurate source. Unless you're seeing actual evidence – closed positions, cancelled projects, managers acting weird – I wouldn't lose any sleep. Focus on doing your job and hitting your targets. Freaking out about rumors will only hurt your performance.
