Management culture shifting at MPS?

Is it just me, or has the culture at MPS become noticeably more cutthroat over the last six months? I’ve been feeling a lot more pressure to justify headcount lately, even with projects that are clearly hitting their milestones. With the recent WARN notice filed for April, the anxiety in the office is palpable. It feels like the era of 'everyone is essential' is officially dead. I’ve noticed a lot more gatekeeping and siloed behavior recently. It feels like everyone is trying to prove their worth by stepping on someone else, and it's making collaboration a nightmare. I came here for the engineering challenge and the growth, not to constantly look over my shoulder for the next round of cuts. If the company is going to start treating employees like disposable line items on a balance sheet, I don’t think I have the stomach for the long haul. Are others seeing this shift, or am I just reading too much into the current instability?

It’s definitely not just you. The vibe has shifted from a collaborative engineering environment to something much more transactional and high-stress. The constant focus on justifying headcount is exhausting, especially when the output remains strong. It feels like management is tightening the screws to look better for the quarterly reports, regardless of the talent they might alienate in the process. When trust erodes, the silos go up, and unfortunately, that’s exactly what we are seeing across the board lately. It’s hard to stay focused when you’re constantly looking over your shoulder instead of shipping product.
