Anyone else seeing quiet layoffs happening here?

Hey all, been at Moody's for about 5 years now, working in the research analytics side. Things feel... weirdly quiet lately. My team lead has been acting super stressed, and there were a couple of 'performance reviews' that felt more like exit interviews, but no official word from HR or anything. Just wanted to see if anyone else is sensing something similar in other departments? Maybe it's just a general market slowdown affecting us, but the vibe feels off. Seeing a lot of people polishing up their resumes, and heard whispers about budget cuts coming down from higher up. Anyone have any insider info or insights on what might be going on behind the scenes? Curious if this is localized or something bigger. Trying not to panic, but also want to be prepared if things do pick up. Let me know what you're hearing.

Been here about the same time as you, different division though. I haven't heard anything concrete about layoffs, but the general atmosphere has been tense for a while now. Lots of 'restructuring' talks and budget freezes. It's hard not to feel uneasy when you see that kind of stress filtering down from management. I'm starting to update my resume too, just in case. Better safe than sorry, right?

Hmm, performance reviews that feel like exit interviews? That sounds pretty sketchy. I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary in my department, but we're pretty insulated. Maybe it's specific to certain areas or projects that are being scaled back? It's probably worth keeping your eyes open and documenting anything unusual, but try not to jump to conclusions based on a few anecdotes. Could be internal reorganizations.
