Has anyone else noticed a slowdown in project approvals or budget allocations lately?

Hey everyone, Been at Moody's for a few years now, and I'm starting to feel a definite shift in the air. Seems like getting new projects greenlit is taking way longer, and even requests for resources or modest budget increases are facing a lot more scrutiny than usual. It's not just my team either; I've heard similar murmurs from colleagues in other departments. We haven't had any official word on layoffs or hiring freezes, which is why I'm hesitant to even label this as a layoff concern, but the overall vibe is definitely one of caution. It feels like everyone's being told to tighten their belts. Are others experiencing this? Is this a company-wide thing or just my corner of the organization? Curious to hear if anyone has insights or has heard any whispers through the grapevine. Maybe it's just the market, but it feels more internal than that. Trying to gauge if this is a normal cyclical thing or something more significant. Thanks for any input!

I've been hearing the same thing. It feels like there's a much tighter grip on spending across the board. Even routine expenses seem to be getting questioned more intensely. My team's been pushing for some upgrades that were approved last year, and suddenly it's like we have to re-justify everything from scratch. It's definitely creating some frustration and slowing down progress.

Yeah, the approval process has felt like wading through mud lately. It's not just project funding, but also seems to be impacting hiring decisions and even smaller operational requests. It's making it hard to plan effectively and feels like there's a general air of caution, which is understandable given the economic climate, but it's definitely noticeable.
