Hiring freeze whispers or just holiday slowdown?

So, I've been keeping an eye on internal job boards and open requisitions, and it seems like things have really dried up lately. A few roles I was interested in that were posted a month or so ago are no longer active, and I haven't seen many new ones pop up. I know we're heading into the holiday season, which usually means a bit of a slowdown, but this feels… different. More like a quiet pause. I haven't heard any official word about a hiring freeze, but the lack of new openings is making me wonder. Is this just typical end-of-year budgeting and planning, or is it a sign of something more significant? Trying to figure out if I should be worried about my own role or just accept that things are slow right now. Anyone else in a similar boat or heard anything through the grapevine?

I've noticed the same thing. It's definitely quieter than usual for this time of year. While the holidays are a factor, the complete lack of movement on several positions I was tracking makes me wonder if there's more to it. Hoping it's just a temporary seasonal dip, but the silence is a bit unsettling. Hopefully, we'll get some clarity soon, or at least see a pick-up in new listings after the new year.

Yeah, the internal job board has been looking pretty bare. I assumed it was just the holiday lull kicking in early, but it's good to know I'm not the only one who feels like it's a bit too quiet. It would be helpful if leadership could provide some transparency, even if it's just to confirm that it's business as usual and things will pick up again soon. Fingers crossed it's not something more serious.
