Just saw the WARN notice for the Madison County office. 84 heads cut effective early August. It’s always the same story—dealmaking is flat, expenses need to be 'optimized' to keep the street happy, and we’re the ones carrying the bag. I’ve been hearing whispers that this isn't just an isolated site closure, but a sign of what's coming for the rest of the business units in Q3. Is anyone in the NYC or Baltimore offices hearing anything about broader headcount reductions? The silence from leadership is deafening, as usual. If you're in the impacted group, I’m truly sorry—this industry feels increasingly like a meat grinder. Just trying to figure out if I should be polishing my resume this weekend or if this is just a localized consolidation.

The Nashville cuts are definitely hitting hard, but unfortunately, they align with the broader 'efficiency' mandate pushed down from headquarters. Everyone I know is bracing for Q3. If deal flow doesn’t pick up by September, leadership will have no choice but to broaden the scope beyond regional offices. It’s a miserable waiting game at this point, and the lack of transparency from the top is only fueling the anxiety across all departments. Just keep your resume polished and stay ready, because nobody is truly safe when the bottom line is prioritized over everything else.
