Hey everyone, posting anonymously here. I've been at Morgan Stanley for a few years now in a non-tech role, and lately, the atmosphere has been... tense. Management is being cagey, and there's a lot of hushed talk about 'efficiency drives' and 'strategic realignments.' Doesn't feel like business as usual. Anyone in other departments or even tech seeing or hearing similar things? It's not just my team; I've spoken to a few others who are feeling a bit uneasy. Just trying to gauge if this is a firm-wide thing or if I'm just paranoid. Curious to hear what others are experiencing.

Yeah, I've definitely picked up on that vibe lately. Seems like there's a lot of uncertainty bubbling under the surface, even in departments that usually feel pretty stable. The 'realignments' talk is particularly vague and that always sets people on edge. Hope it's nothing too drastic, but it's hard not to feel a bit unsettled when things aren't clear.

I'm in a different division, but I've heard similar murmurs. It's like a low hum of 'what ifs' going around. People are definitely paying closer attention to internal comms and looking for any hints about what's really going on. It's understandable, given the market conditions and the general economic climate – everyone's a bit on edge.
