Anyone else on edge waiting for the hammer to drop?

I'm in Tech in Wealth Management, been here almost 7 years. Honestly, I've seen this movie before. The whispers start, performance reviews get extra…scrutinized, and then BAM. They always say 'performance' but we all know it's just cost cutting. I'm not saying I'm a superstar, but my projects are always delivered on time. Still, I can't help but feel anxious. Anyone else feeling this way? What department are you in?

Yep, feeling it too. Different department (Compliance), but the vibes are the same across the board. The 'voluntary' separation packages are usually a good indicator of what's coming down the pipeline. Start polishing up that resume, even if you just want to see what's out there. Knowledge is power, and having options will ease the anxiety a bit. Good luck to you!

Honestly, I think you're reading too much into it. Companies always have performance reviews and cost-saving measures. It's part of the business cycle. Seven years is a good run! Instead of worrying, maybe focus on highlighting your achievements and demonstrating your value. If you're delivering projects on time, you should be fine. Just stay positive and don't let the rumors get to you.
