Had a final round interview for an AVP role in Investment Banking earlier this week. The process was pretty standard - initial phone screen with HR, then a technical interview with a team lead, and finally the dreaded 'meet the team' panel interview. Honestly, the technical interview was tougher than I expected. They really grilled me on financial modeling and valuation techniques. The panel interview was more behavioral, asking about my experience with deal execution and team leadership. Overall, I'd say be prepared to really know your stuff and be ready to talk about specific examples. Good luck to everyone else interviewing!

AVP in IB is a tough role to land. Honestly, the 'meet the team' is where most people fail - it's not just about being technically proficient, but also about how well you fit in. Banks are very particular about team dynamics. I'd be curious to know what kind of behavioral questions they asked, were they specifically focused on your leadership during stressful situations?
