Morgan Stanley: Q4 Projections and Potential Headcount Adjustments?

Hey everyone, with Q4 earnings season approaching, I'm trying to gauge the general sentiment around the Street, specifically for MS. The dealmaking environment has been pretty anemic, and while there haven't been any major public announcements, I'm hearing whispers through the grapevine about potential headcount reviews in certain divisions. Anyone in areas like Investment Banking, particularly M&A or Capital Markets, feeling the pressure? Or perhaps Wealth Management? Just trying to get a sense if there's a broader slowdown anticipated or if it's more division-specific. Trying to stay ahead of any potential storms, you know? Let me know what you're hearing, even if it's just a gut feeling. Trying to separate the noise from potential reality.

Hearing similar rumblings. The broader economic slowdown definitely seems to be impacting deal flow, which naturally puts pressure on IB divisions. M&A and capital markets have been particularly quiet for a while now. While I haven't seen official word, it's not surprising to think that companies are taking a hard look at costs and staffing in light of lower revenues. Hopefully, it's more of a strategic review than widespread cuts, but it's a valid concern for many right now.
