I hear you. Was there for 7 years and it started feeling like a pressure cooker. Upper management seems more focused on optics than actually supporting their employees. The constant restructures and 'synergy' initiatives just created more work and less stability. Don't let it completely burn you out before you leave; start exploring other options now, even if it's just networking and informational interviews. Your well-being is paramount.
Is it really *that* different though, or is it just the typical ebb and flow? Every firm goes through cycles of tightening the belt. Maybe try talking to HR or your VP (carefully) about the workload. Jumping ship without a plan could land you in a worse situation. Do some serious research before you make a rash decision. Smaller shops aren't always greener pastures; they can be just as cutthroat, but with less pay and fewer resources.
