Severance package - what to expect?

Just trying to get ahead of the curve here... If the worst happens, what kind of severance package is MS offering these days? I'm a VP in Operations with 10 years at the firm. I've heard whispers of 2 weeks per year of service, but hoping for more official (or unofficial but reliable) intel. Trying to figure out if I should start aggressively looking now, or if I can afford to wait it out a bit.

Honestly, start looking now. Even if the package is decent, finding a new role takes time, especially at the VP level. Two weeks per year is a decent starting point, but it depends on performance reviews and how they structure the layoff (department-wide, etc.). Don't rely on whispers; focus on your network and get your resume polished. Best of luck!

Take anything you hear with a huge grain of salt. MS is known for changing things on a dime. 2 weeks per year might be the *starting* point, but they also factor in your salary band, performance, and current market conditions. I'd quietly explore options to gauge the external landscape. It's always better to have a plan B than to be caught completely off guard. Good luck!
