Performance review season and uncertainty

With performance review season around the corner, I'm feeling a bit more anxious than usual. There's been a lot of talk about efficiency and streamlining across the board, and while that's normal business, the lack of clarity on future headcount is making me uneasy. Has anyone received any indication about how this review cycle might tie into any potential organizational changes? Trying to separate normal business cycles from potential layoff signals. Just looking for some insight from colleagues who might have more information or a different perspective.

Totally understand the anxiety. It's tough when the company narrative shifts towards "efficiency" without clear communication about what that actually means for us. I haven't heard anything concrete, but I've been trying to focus on delivering my best work and documenting my contributions. Hopefully, that's the best defense against any potential shake-ups. It's a stressful time for sure, just hoping for some transparency soon.

I feel you on this. The "streamlining" talk definitely adds a layer of unease, especially when it's not paired with specific details about team structures or roles. My manager mentioned that this review cycle might be more focused on individual development and aligning skills with upcoming projects, but that's still pretty vague. Trying not to read too much into it, but keeping an eye on how things unfold.
