Layoff Report

Anyone else see the internal memo today? 80 people gone.

It never ends, does it? Just saw the latest news regarding the 80 positions cut on the 3rd. It feels like we’re playing a constant game of musical chairs where the seats are disappearing one by one. I’ve been here for over five years, and the culture has shifted from 'innovation' to just trying to survive the next quarterly report. Management keeps talking about 'operational efficiency' and 'realigning resources,' but at this point, we are just stretched so thin that nothing is actually getting done effectively. If you were one of the folks impacted, I’m truly sorry. This place is becoming a revolving door, and honestly, I don't know how much longer I can deal with the anxiety of checking my inbox every Tuesday morning. Is anyone else looking for the exits? I’ve already started updating my resume because this constant trimming feels like a slow-motion sinking ship.

It is honestly exhausting to watch. Every single quarter feels like another round of headcount adjustments under the guise of 'efficiency.' I have been through three rounds of these 'realignments' in my time here, and it never gets any easier watching talented people pack up their desks. The constant uncertainty makes it impossible to focus on actual development projects. We are all just checking the intranet every morning, wondering if our department is next on the chopping block while the leadership team continues to talk about record profits.

I have been tracking these trends for a while, and it is a clear pattern. They keep trimming the bottom line to keep shareholders happy, but it is gutting the core of the engineering teams. You cannot sustain long-term growth when you treat your workforce like disposable line items. The morale is hitting rock bottom because there is no transparency about where the cuts end. It is time to start looking elsewhere because waiting around for the next wave of 'restructuring' is just a slow way to burn out.
