Just saw the news about the 80 positions cut on Dec 3rd. It’s always the same story—the company talks about record-breaking growth and shareholder value in the quarterly calls, and then a few weeks later, they pull the rug out from under us to 'optimize for future agility.' I haven’t heard much noise on the internal channels, but that’s typical when they want to keep panic to a minimum. Are these cuts primarily affecting the legacy engineering teams, or is this widespread across the software divisions too? I feel like the vibe in the office has been off for months, just waiting for the next shoe to drop. If you were part of the 80 or have friends who were, let us know if they at least got decent severance packages or if it was the bare minimum. Stay safe everyone, keep those resumes polished.

It is honestly exhausting watching the leadership praise our record-breaking performance one minute and then issue layoff notices the next. I have been with the engineering team for years, and it feels like 'optimizing for agility' is just code for cutting costs to satisfy Wall Street investors. The silence in the hallways is deafening, and nobody wants to risk speaking up for fear of being next on the list. We deserve better transparency about what is actually happening to our colleagues.

I heard the cuts are hitting a few different departments, not just engineering, which is honestly terrifying. It seems like they are quietly restructuring to boost the stock price before the end of the quarter. It is standard practice to keep things quiet on the internal boards, but the lack of communication is making everyone nervous. If you are worried about your position, start polishing your resume now, because the company’s focus is clearly on margins rather than its long-term employees.
