Venting: The constant re-orgs are burning me out

I’m so tired of the perpetual restructuring. Every month it seems like someone decides to shift the reporting lines again, and I’m losing track of who is actually responsible for what. It’s hard to stay motivated when you’re constantly wondering if your team is going to be the next one to get hit with a 'strategic realignment.' Honestly, it feels like the management is just playing musical chairs while the actual engineering work takes a backseat. I came here for the tech and the challenge, not to spend 40% of my week in meetings about how we are going to optimize the reporting structure. If they do decide to pull the plug on certain segments, I hope they just rip the band-aid off quickly instead of this slow, painful death by a thousand cuts. Is anyone else feeling this level of exhaustion, or am I just being cynical?

I feel your pain. It’s been chaotic lately, and the constant shifting makes it impossible to focus on long-term engineering goals. It feels like we’re spending more time updating organizational charts and attending alignment meetings than actually shipping quality code. When the structure changes this frequently, it erodes trust and makes it hard to feel stable enough to commit to the mission. You aren’t the only one feeling exhausted by the constant pivots; many of us are just keeping our heads down and waiting for things to actually settle down.

Maybe it’s time to stop looking for stability in a company that’s clearly still finding its identity after the split. Nebius is navigating a massive transition, and while the re-orgs are definitely annoying, they’re a byproduct of trying to build a new infrastructure powerhouse from the ground up. It’s definitely not for everyone, but if you can focus on your specific tech stack and ignore the corporate shuffle, there’s some interesting work being done. If the instability is too much for your mental health, though, it might be worth considering if your values still align with the current pace.
