I'm seeing similar things in my department. The 'efficiency drives' are definitely impacting day-to-day work, with more tasks being consolidated and less emphasis on certain projects that were priorities just a few months ago. It's creating a lot of uncertainty, and honestly, it's hard to stay motivated when you're not sure about the long-term stability of your role or the company's direction. I hope it's just a temporary adjustment, but the mood is definitely tense.
Yeah, the buzz is definitely out there. It's tough when leadership's messaging is so vague. 'Adapting to market conditions' can mean so many things, and unfortunately, history shows it often leads to cuts. I've noticed some key people have left recently, and their roles haven't been backfilled, which is another red flag. Trying to stay positive, but it's hard not to worry when there's so much speculation and a palpable sense of unease.
