Is it just me, or is the vibe off lately?

Honestly, I'm starting to get a bad feeling about NetApp. It's not just the general economic downturn affecting tech, but there seems to be a specific nervousness within the company. I know we've had layoffs in the past, and some of the HN articles from a few years ago about significant cuts are still circulating in my mind. Lately, there's been a lot more talk about 'efficiency' and 'realigning resources' in internal comms, which always makes me nervous. My workload hasn't decreased, but the overall atmosphere feels a bit more... precarious. I haven't heard any direct confirmation of layoffs happening *now*, but the whispers are getting louder. Is anyone else picking up on this? Or am I just overthinking it because of past events? Curious to hear if others are feeling this unease or if it's just my perception.

I feel you. It's definitely a more anxious atmosphere than I've experienced in a while. The 'efficiency' buzzwords are concerning, especially when you're still dealing with a full plate. It makes you wonder what's really going on behind the scenes. Hopefully, it's just industry-wide jitters and not something specific to us, but the gut feeling is hard to shake.

Yeah, I've noticed it too. The language around 'realigning resources' is definitely a red flag. It's easy to dismiss when things are good, but when there's already a sense of unease, those phrases just amplify the worry. It's tough to stay motivated when you suspect tougher times might be on the horizon, even if day-to-day work feels the same for now.
