Just saw the WARN notice hit for the Denver/Arapahoe office. 19 people gone as of yesterday. It’s starting to feel like death by a thousand cuts. The mood in the office is completely dead; everyone is just staring at their screens waiting for the next invite from HR. It’s impossible to focus on project deliverables when we’re all wondering who is going to be packed up by Friday. Does anyone actually know if there’s a plan here, or are they just trimming headcount to keep the stock price from dipping further? I’ve been here for years, but the transparency is at an all-time low. If you’re in a core function, keep your LinkedIn updated and your portfolio ready. This doesn’t feel like it’s over yet.

It’s honestly soul-crushing at this point. I remember when Newmont felt like a stable place to build a career, but now it’s just pure anxiety every single morning. The silence in the office is deafening, and you can tell everyone has already checked out because what’s the point in grinding when your seat could be empty tomorrow? Leadership is completely silent while they bleed the talent dry. Nobody believes there is a cohesive strategy anymore; it feels like they are just throwing numbers at shareholders while the actual work suffers. It’s a sinking ship and everyone knows it.
