Anyone else feeling the chill? What's the word on the street?

Been at Newmont for about 5 years now, mostly in the Denver corporate office, but I've heard whispers and seen some unusual activity lately. Seems like there's a general unease creeping in. Managers are being cagey, project scopes are shifting, and there's this weird silence from HR. I'm in a tech-adjacent role, so I figured we'd be somewhat insulated, but you never know. Anyone else in a similar boat picking up on vibes? Trying to gauge if it's just my department or something broader. Hearing anything from your sites or offices?

Yeah, I'm picking up on similar vibes, though I'm on the operational side. Things have felt a bit tighter lately, and communication has definitely been more... curated, let's say. I'm not sure if it's market jitters or something internal, but it's making people nervous. My advice is to keep your resume updated and network actively, just in case. It's always better to be prepared, especially in this industry. Stay sharp out there.

Honestly, I think some of this might be overblown. We've had shifts in project scope before, and management can be tight-lipped about future plans for a reason - to avoid causing unnecessary panic. Unless there are concrete signs of layoffs or significant restructuring, I'd try not to get too caught up in the rumor mill. Focus on your work and document your accomplishments. That's always the best defense, regardless of the 'vibes'.
