Anyone else feeling the pre-layoff jitters at NEM?

Been hearing a lot of whispers lately, more than usual. Management's been tight-lipped, but the general vibe in the break room and on those internal town halls feels... tense. Like they're walking on eggshells. People are starting to do the "what if" math in their heads, looking at LinkedIn, and generally being a bit more withdrawn. No official announcements or anything concrete, but you can just feel it. Is it just me, or is anyone else picking up on these subtle signs? Trying to stay positive, but it's hard when the rumor mill is churning this much and leadership isn't offering much clarity. Just looking for some honest takes from others in the trenches. What's the word in your departments?

I've noticed the same atmosphere. The usual chatter feels muted, and people are definitely more guarded in conversations. It's that quiet uncertainty that gets under your skin, isn't it? You try to focus on the work, but the background hum of speculation is hard to ignore. Just hoping it's a false alarm or that any changes are handled with as much care as possible for everyone involved.

Totally. It's like everyone's waiting for the other shoe to drop. The increased silence in common areas and the careful wording in company-wide messages are hard to miss. People are understandably anxious and looking for any scrap of information. Let's hope for clarity soon, one way or another, so we can all plan accordingly and manage the uncertainty.
