The 'reallocation' excuse is getting old. I've been here long enough to see the pattern: they promise efficiency but just push the burnout threshold higher every cycle. My team is already drowning in extra tasks from the last round, and now we’re expected to absorb even more without a hint of compensation or support. If they really wanted us to succeed, they’d be transparent about the structural changes instead of leaving us to guess why everything is falling apart while they keep pushing the same production targets.
It is honestly refreshing to see someone else calling this out. My manager pulled the exact same dodge during our meeting—just vague corporate speak about 'streamlining' and 'operational agility.' It is clear they have no intention of backfilling these positions. They are counting on us to just quietly work ourselves into the ground to keep the metrics looking good for the next earnings call. Don't fall for the talk about it being temporary; this is the new normal, and they're just hoping we don't realize it until it's too late.
