Hey everyone, been seeing a lot of talk on here and elsewhere about potential layoffs at Newmont. The company's been using words like 'optimization' and 'streamlining operations,' which, let's be honest, usually means one thing. I haven't seen any official announcements or anything concrete, but the vibe feels off. Been working here for a few years, and usually, things are pretty transparent, but lately, there's been this hush-hush atmosphere. People are whispering in the break rooms, and it's making everyone anxious. Is anyone in a position to know more? Hearing anything specific about departments or locations that might be more affected? Just trying to get a clearer picture before the uncertainty gets any worse. Seems like a lot of companies in the sector are tightening belts right now, so it wouldn't be a complete shock, but it's definitely unnerving.

Yeah, I'm picking up on that too. The 'optimization' language is a classic euphemism for cost-cutting, and frankly, it's creating a lot of anxiety.
