Newmont - Anyone else feeling the pinch with market conditions?

Hey everyone, Been seeing a lot of chatter online about the general economic climate impacting mining companies. With the price of gold fluctuating and a lot of uncertainty in the broader markets, I'm starting to get a little antsy about job security at NEM. Haven't heard any official word, of course, but the vibe feels... off. My department's been stretched thin lately, and there's been some 're-prioritization' of projects. Just wondering if anyone else is picking up on similar signals or if I'm just overthinking things. Anyone in different divisions seeing anything that gives them pause? Trying to gauge if this is a company-wide feeling or just my corner of the world. Curious to hear what others are observing.

Yeah, I'm definitely feeling it too. The operational costs seem to be creeping up, and while gold prices are okay, they aren't exactly soaring. Heard some whispers about potential hiring freezes in certain divisions. Hopefully, it's just a cyclical thing and things will pick up again soon, but it's hard not to be a bit concerned with the news out there.

I get what you're saying about the 'vibe.' While there haven't been any direct announcements, the increased focus on efficiency and the subtle project shifts do make you wonder. The company's been pretty solid historically, but these are undeniably choppy waters for the industry. Just keeping my head down and focusing on my work for now, but I'm definitely keeping an eye on developments.
