Newmont - Performance reviews and potential impact on roles?

Just finished my annual performance review at NEM, and it felt... intense. Lots of emphasis on efficiency and productivity, which I get, but it also had a slightly different tone than in previous years. Made me wonder if this is a company-wide push leading up to something bigger. With the current economic climate and the gold price fluctuations, I can't shake the feeling that some roles might be evaluated more critically. Has anyone else had a similar experience with their reviews recently? Wondering if this is a sign of upcoming changes or just standard business practice amplified by market conditions. Trying not to spiral, but curious if others are getting the same vibe.

Yeah, my review had a similar vibe. It feels like they're really drilling down on metrics and outputs. While I appreciate the focus on performance, it does make you wonder about future staffing. I'm hoping it's just a standard push for efficiency, but the underlying worry about job security is definitely there. It's a tough market right now, and companies are going to look for ways to streamline. Let's hope it doesn't come at too high a cost for the employees.

Interesting to hear your experience. Mine was fairly standard, but I have noticed more discussions about operational optimization in team meetings. The economic pressures are undeniable, and I think every company is feeling the pinch. It's natural to feel a bit anxious when performance standards seem to be ratcheted up. It would be helpful if management was more transparent about the broader strategic goals driving these reviews. Better communication could alleviate a lot of the uncertainty.
